Benefits of Coaching

Who can use a wellness coach?

The short answer is everyone, at one time or another. There are times in most people’s lives when they know a change is necessary.  They just may not be certain what that change is or how to make it.  A wellness coach serves as an ally on this journey of change and exploration, guiding, helping to clarify what changes should be made, and just what is the best way to accomplish them.

Some of the benefits of working with a wellness coach include greater clarity of purpose, living a life more in accordance with personal core values, and most importantly, more chance to experience joy on a daily basis.  Of course, potentially living a longer, more vibrant life due to cognitive and behavioral changes could be considered the ultimate benefit.

Another key benefit of wellness coaching is accountability.  In his book, Off Balance, Getting Beyond the Work-Life Balance Myth to Personal and Professional Satisfaction, Matthew Kelly writes, “When it comes to personal change or individual success, I have noticed that most people can do something for a few days, or a few weeks, but over time they tend to slip back into their old self-destructive ways.  That’s why we need coaches…”

A coach challenges you to be  accountable to yourself, which is one of the most powerful ways of creating long-lasting change.
